OUR MISSION

The award-winning Coalville Amateur Boxing Club (Coalville ABC) has a long-standing history of serving at-risk groups across North West Leicestershire and Charnwood. While their projects benefit participants in all areas of life, they hold a deep specialisation in supporting individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.

By partnering with organisations such as social services, charities, treatment centres, the police, and probation services, the club delivers transformative initiatives that empower people both inside and outside the boxing ring.

OUR INTERVENTION PROJECTS WORK!

A CLOSER LOOK AT SOME OF OUR PREVIOUS PROJECTS ...

Award winning community impact. A Case study.

We have delivered classes to over 1000 people since we opened in 2011. We have worked with hundreds of people with our targeted projects.

We won the North West Leicestershire Community Award, as well as the Leicester Mercury Award for Community Impact.

The case study linked below for a “YP”, was taken over a 14 year period. It perfectly demonstrates how successful intervention work for one person can then continue with many others for years to come.

Boxing Fitness and Recovery Coaching Projects

Coalville ABC has a proven track record of delivering transformative interventions across North West Leicestershire and Charnwood.

By combining boxing fitness with specialist life coaching, we support vulnerable adults in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse. Our projects move beyond the ring to provide the discipline and resilience needed for long-term sobriety. Key outcomes include improved mental wellbeing, reduced substance relapse, and lower local reoffending rates, helping participants reclaim their lives and reintegrate into the community.

Youth Intervention Work

We’ve run multiple intervention projects with tangible results. Recently, we worked with a YP who had spent four years in a secure unit for violent offences.

Our engagement has eased their transition into society; they have ceased offending and met milestones including improved fitness, timekeeping, healthy eating, and coping strategies.

Young people who engage with us often start taking responsibilities for their own lives. This starts with a daily routine, which many have never had.
